This weekend the 7th edition of the Cheese and Goat Fair will take place in Playa Blanca. The intention of this event is to highlight the artisan cheese of Lanzarote, seeking the involvement of the catering sector in the use of these products in their kitchen and to create a local awareness of their quality. The organization of this event has been in charge of the brand Saborea Lanzarote, together with the Island Council (Cabildo) of Lanzarote, the town hall of Yaiza, the Association of Artisanal Cheese Makers in Lanzarote (AQAL) and the Regulatory Board of the Designation of Origin "Lanzarote". From Saturday the 6th of April to Sunday the 7th of April, more than 30 exhibitors will take part in this fair to present their dishes prepared with this product and other local ingredients. At the Hotel Princesa Yaiza we are aware of the importance of local cuisine and the excellent quality of the island's cheeses, so that we cannot miss this fair. Visit us at our booth 34-35, where the sous chef of the hotel, Abel del Rosario, will perform a showcooking. There you will also have the opportunity to talk to Victor Bossecker, our chef and responsible for the Gastro Event Km Cero of our restaurant Isla de Lobos. During the fair, visitors to our booth can try various culinary surprises, such as goat meat arepas, or pea falafel with tsatsiki from goat yogurt.

7th Cheese & Goat Fair Saborea Lanzarote
PY and local cuisine. The philosophy of our restaurants is based on the use of high quality local and seasonal ingredients. Proof of this is the Km 0 experience, which we mentioned above, in which once a month we organise a visit to the Finca de Uga guided by our chef. During this experience you can convince yourself of the values of the philosophy of closeness, you can collect these freshingredients and finally, you have the possibility to taste them during a dinner in our Restaurant Isla de Lobo and to enjoy the magnificent sea view. Victor Bossecker speaks in this context again and again of the luxury to have the Finca de Uga as our pantry, and of the luck to be located in a place with a unique gastronomic value, whose wines and cheeses are considered as international references.
Hall of products. We all enjoy high quality products, but sometimes we are not aware of the possibilities that a good pairing can improve their flavours. In this area of the fair you can taste the different types of goat cheese and combine them with other local delicacies such as beers, wines, jams and vermouths. All real delicacies!
Gastro playroom. Do you think that this event is not suitable for the smallest family members? Well, this fair has an area especially dedicated to children, where they can have a lot of fun, learn to make cheese, rebuild a traditional shop, or take part in a Trivial Pursuit game all about cheese.
Fusion of cheese and live music. A mixture, that undoubtedly works very well. Several bands participating in the Big Bopper Jamboree Festival will provide the background music for the event.
